Microneedling is the process of rejuvenating the skin through a procedure that involves a device with tiny needles or pins. The SkinPen uses small needles while the Venus Viva™ skin resurfacing treatments work with tiny pins that safely deliver heat (via NanoFractional Radio Frequency) through the skin's surface. These devices create controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your body's natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. Microneedling can be used with or without Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP). See PRP section for additional information.

1. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MICRO-NEEDLING?
   Microneedling is designed for the treatment of fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, acne scars, and the skin's texture, tone, and color. The goal is to achieve younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging.
2. WHAT AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED?
   Microneedling can be applied on all parts of the body, including: face, neck, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and back.
3. HOW IS THE PROCEDURE DONE?
   Dr. Rosner will apply a thin layer of numbing cream to your skin and select the appropriate pen setting based on your unique needs. Then, in a single motion, the micropen will be gently pressed against the skin while gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.
4. WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
   While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating tip reduces discomfort, and the applied cream makes the treatment tolerable.
5. HOW LONG IS THE PROCEDURE?
   The procedure takes approxiamtely 30 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.
6. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECOVER?
   Immediately after the treatment, you will notice a bright redness to the skin. On average, patients are red for about two to four days. Many patients heal completely as quickly as 24 hours.
7. WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULTS?
   Results depend on the location and the number of treatments a patient receives. Patients notice an immediate "glow" to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results can continue to improve for up to six months.
8. HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
   Some patients only require a single treatment to achieve optimal results. However, most patients receive two or three treatments, spaced about six to eight weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks, or acne scars, it is recommended to receive six to eight sessions at six-week intervals.

BEFORE THE TREATMENT

1. Am I a good candidate for this treatment?
   The ideal candidate is anyone who shows signs of skin damage, including deep wrinkles, scars, visible pores, stretch marks, and/or anything else that affects the skin’s texture.
2. I have darker skin - can i still get this done?
   Yes. Venus Viva™ uses technology that’s safe for all skin tones, even darker ones.
3. How many sessions will I need for results?
   Most patients receive 3-4 treatments per area. The exact number will depend on each individual person and the area being treated.
4. How often/far apart should treatments be?
   Treatments are done 4 weeks apart.
5. Do i need to do anything to prepare?
   Make sure your skin is clean. Do not apply any lotions, creams, perfumes, powder, or makeup before your treatment session, and avoid tanning. Remove all jewelry around the area being treated. If you have excessive hair on the treatment area, shave it beforehand. It also helps to be prepared with information about your medical history—the technician will likely ask about it.
