Microneedling in Grand Rapids is performed at Remedy Hair Restoration & Medical Spa using the Bellus SkinPen since it's the most advanced medical-grade automated microneedling device on the market and FDA approved. Microneedling is an innovation in aesthetics for the treatment of the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and the skin's texture, tone, and color.
Microneedling is the process of rejuvenating the skin through a procedure that involves a device with tiny needles. The device creates tiny punctures in the skin as a way of improving the texture and appearance of the skin. Microneedling can be used with or without Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP). See PRP section for additional information.
The benefits of microneedling include a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to achieve younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging.
Microneedling can be applied on all parts of the body, including: face, neck, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and back.
Dr. Rosner will apply a thin layer of numbing cream to your skin and select the appropriate pen setting based on your unique needs. Then, in a single motion, the micropen will be gently pressed against the skin while gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.
While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating tip reduces discomfort, and the applied cream makes the treatment tolerable.
The procedure takes approxiamtely 30 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.
Immediately after the treatment, you will notice a bright redness to the skin. On average, patients are red for about two to four days. Many patients heal completely as quickly as 24 hours.
Results depend on the location and the number of treatments a patient receives. Patients notice an immediate "glow" to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results can continue to improve for up to six months.
Some patients only require a single treatment to achieve optimal results. However, most patients receive two or three treatments, spaced about six to eight weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks, or acne scars, it is recommended to receive six to eight sessions at six-week intervals.
